Car Service in Moorooka
Baldock St is in Moorooka. Drop the keys around the corner, not across town. Full service from $330 with a written condition report — not just a list of tasks ticked off.
Where this happens
Baldock St runs off the Beaudesert Road side of Moorooka, and that is where your car goes. Not to a second site, not to a subcontractor, because 2 Baldock St is the only address we have. A full service starts at $330 and an oil and filter change starts at $149.
What is actually in a full service
The word service means different things at different workshops, which is why it is worth reading the list rather than the price.
A full vehicle safety check. The car goes on the hoist and gets worked through properly. Brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, belts, hoses and any leaks. Not a glance from the side.
Fresh engine oil and a new oil filter. The correct grade for your engine, which is not always the same as whatever is convenient.
A fuel system clean. This addresses rough idling and the slow drift in fuel economy that most people never consciously notice, because it happens over years rather than weeks.
All fluids checked and topped up. Coolant, brake fluid, power steering and washer.
A written report. What we did, what we found, what condition things are actually in and what is worth watching. In language you can read without a trade background.
Most cars are a few hours. Tell us when you book if you need it back at a set time and we will be straight about whether that is realistic.
The report is the part that matters
Everyone has had the experience of collecting a car and being told it is all good, with no idea what was looked at, and then having something fail six weeks later that was obviously on its way out.
Our report lists condition rather than just tasks completed. If your front pads are at 4mm, the report says 4mm and roughly how long that gives you. If a hose is going soft, it goes on as something to watch rather than something to replace today. You can take it to any other workshop for a second opinion, and we would rather you could.
Being the workshop in your own suburb
Moorooka customers do something the rest of our customers cannot. They drop the car in the morning and walk home, then walk back in the afternoon. Some leave the keys in the after-hours drop the night before so the car is on a hoist first thing.
The other thing about servicing cars in the suburb you operate in is that you see them again. When we tell a Moorooka customer their pads have one more service left in them, we are the people who will be measuring those pads next time. That changes how you write a report.
Eight years at this address, six people on the floor, and owner John Ruzgani is on the workshop floor rather than behind a call centre.
What Moorooka driving does to a car
A lot of local driving here is short runs and stop-start time on Ipswich Road, where an engine spends a while idling and never gets a proper sustained load. That works oil harder than open highway kilometres do, and it means the odometer understates how much the engine has actually been through.
If most of your driving is under fifteen minutes at a time, servicing toward the shorter end of the manufacturer's interval is money well spent rather than an upsell.
Oil and filter, if that is all you need
Not every car needs the full job every time. If your last full service was recent and the car simply needs fresh oil and a filter to get to the next one, that starts at $149 and takes far less of your day.
We will still tell you what we notice while the car is up, because you cannot drain oil without seeing the underside of a vehicle. What you will not get is a list of work invented to justify a bigger invoice.
All makes and models
European, diesel, 4WD, fleet, commercial, hybrid and electric vehicles. Six technicians and the diagnostic equipment behind them.
If your car is still under new car warranty you want logbook servicing rather than a general service, and we stamp the book. The full detail on servicing, intervals and what it costs is on the main servicing page.
Everything else we do in this suburb, including safety certificates at our approved inspection station and smash repairs, is on the Moorooka page.
