Mobile Mechanic in Mount Gravatt

Most people put off servicing for one reason, which is that getting a car to a workshop costs them half a working day. Mount Gravatt is on our Brisbane Southside mobile run, so the car gets serviced while it sits where it was going to sit anyway.

Booking around a working day

The car is parked for eight hours somewhere. At home if you catch the bus or work from home, at an office car park if you drive in. Either way it is stationary and available, and that is the window a mobile booking uses.

You do not have to be standing next to it. You need to be reachable by phone, because nothing gets done without your approval once we know what the car needs.

Working from home

This is the easiest version. The car is in your own driveway on firm level ground, you are inside on calls, and the work happens outside without you losing anything.

Tell us where the keys will be and whether the car needs to be moved off a slope. If the driveway is steep, a level section of street outside usually solves it.

At your workplace

Plenty of these bookings run at an office or a site car park. Two things need sorting first. You need permission from whoever manages the property, and there has to be a bay we can work around for the length of the job.

A visitor bay or an end space is better than a tight one between two cars. If the site has rules about contractors, tell us when you book and we will work with them.

What fits into that window

A full service from $330 or an oil and filter change from $149, logbook servicing with the book stamped, brake pads and rotors, battery and charging system work, diagnostics and inspections.

Most of those are comfortably done inside a working day. Larger repairs are quoted rather than started, so you are never left with a car apart at 5pm.

The parent mobile mechanic page sets out what travels and what does not, and the rest of what we do locally is on the Mount Gravatt page.

What you get at the end of it

A written report in plain English covering what was checked, what the measurements were, what was done and what is worth watching. Not a tick sheet, and not a verbal summary you have to remember.

That report is the difference between a service and an oil change. The inspection side is where the value sits, because it is what tells you your front pads have one service left in them or that a hose has started to weep.

Anything found that could not be done on the day gets listed with a price, so you can plan it rather than discover it later.

What we need from you

The rego or VIN when you book, so model specific parts are on board rather than being discovered as a problem in your car park. A description of what the car is doing if there is a fault, rather than a guess at the repair.

Access to the vehicle and somewhere to put the keys. Firm level ground, with roughly a metre of clear space on the side being worked on.

And a phone you will answer. Nothing gets done without approval, so an unanswered phone stops the job rather than speeding it up.

When the workshop is the better answer

Anything needing a hoist for hours, wheel alignment, rotor machining, clutch work or transmission repair belongs at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka. So does any job where the car has to sit lifted overnight.

Mount Gravatt sits on Logan Road with Kessels Road and Mains Road nearby, so the run to the workshop is straightforward. There is on-site parking, an after-hours key drop for early starts and Saturday hours until 3pm.

The choice between the two is worth a phone call rather than a guess. Ring 0402 723 464 and describe what the car is doing.

Common questions

FAQ — Mobile mechanic in Mount Gravatt

Do you cover Mount Gravatt?

Yes. Mount Gravatt is part of our Brisbane Southside mobile area, along with Sunnybank, Coorparoo and Holland Park.

Can you service my car at my office?

Yes, with the property owner's permission and a bay we can work around. Tell us about site rules when you book.

Do I have to take time off work?

No. That is the point of the booking. You need to be reachable by phone, not present.

How long does a full service take at an address?

Usually a straightforward part of a working day. We will give you a realistic window when you book.

What if you find something while I am in meetings?

We ring you with what was found and a price, and wait. Nothing is done without approval.

Can you do it on a Saturday instead?

Saturday hours run 8am to 3pm. Availability moves around, so ring rather than assuming.

Do you stamp logbooks?

Yes. Logbook servicing by a qualified workshop does not affect a new car warranty.

What do you need from me when I book?

The rego or VIN so the right parts are on board, the address, and where the keys will be.
