Car Servicing and Repairs in Kangaroo Point

A Kangaroo Point car with 38,000km on it is often more worn than a Logan car with 90,000km. Short trips, constant stopping, tight basement car parks and long idles do not add distance — but they take a great deal out of brakes, batteries and air conditioning. We service Kangaroo Point cars from 2 Baldock St, Moorooka, across the river and down Ipswich Road. Full service from $330.

The odometer is lying to you

Low kilometres are not
the same as low wear.

An engine that never fully warms up on a two kilometre trip does not burn off the moisture and fuel that collect in the oil — the oil ages by time rather than distance. A battery that only ever gets short runs never comes back to full charge, which is why inner city cars fail batteries at three years while a country car gets six out of the same brand.

We check condition rather than distance. Oil condition, battery health under load, actual pad thickness — measured and written down.

Battery testing under load

A battery can read 12.6V at rest and still fail under the current demand of starting. Load testing shows you the difference.

Brakes in dense traffic

Constant low-speed brake applications without a chance to cool glaze pads and score rotors. Kilometres on the dash do not tell this story.

Car park damage

Basement columns and tight underground parks produce a specific kind of damage — scraped corners, mirror housings and the dent nobody left a note about. Panel and mechanical in the same building.

If the car sits more than it drives

A weekend car that spends five days in a basement loses battery charge and develops flat spots in its tyres. We check both at every service.

Common questions

FAQ — Kangaroo Point

My car has barely done any kilometres. Do I still need a yearly service?

Yes, and arguably more than a high-kilometre car does. Oil degrades on time as well as distance, and short trips that never get the engine hot are the hardest use there is.

Kangaroo Point has closer mechanics. Why drive out to Moorooka?

Because mechanical and smash repair are one business here, because the starting prices are published, and because we are open Saturdays. If your job is simple and local, a closer workshop is the sensible answer.

Why does my battery keep dying?

Usually because it never gets a long enough run to reach full charge. We test batteries under load, which is the only way to see the difference between a battery that is flat and one that is finished.

Someone hit my car in the building car park and left. What now?

Bring it in and we will assess the damage and put it in writing, whether you claim on insurance or pay for it directly. We work with all major Australian insurers.

Do you work on EVs and hybrids?

Yes. Plenty of inner city cars are one or the other, and we service them alongside everything else.

Do you come to Kangaroo Point?

Our mobile service covers many Brisbane areas. Call us on 0402 723 464 to check current coverage for your suburb.

How long does a service take?

A few hours for most cars. Say so when you book if you need it back the same day.

Can I drop the car before you open?

Yes, there is an after-hours key drop. Hours are Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm and Sat 8am to 3pm.

How do I get there from Kangaroo Point?

Across the river and down Ipswich Road, then a short way off it into Moorooka. On-site parking at Baldock Street.
