Car Servicing and Repairs in New Farm
New Farm is on the northern side of the river and our workshop is at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka — across the river and down Ipswich Road. Worth the trip for specific reasons: mechanical and smash repair in one building, European and EV welcome, published starting prices and a written condition report. For an oil change on its own, use someone closer. Full service from $330.
Peninsula driving and hidden wear
40,000km car with 80,000km
wear underneath.
New Farm sits in a bend of the river and the whole peninsula funnels traffic through a handful of streets. Cars here cover very few kilometres and do very little of it above 40km/h. That is the hardest life a car can have.
We have taken 40,000km cars off the hoist with brakes a 100,000km highway car would still be running comfortably. This is why our report measures things instead of quoting the odometer at you.
Oil on time, not distance
Five thousand kilometres of short inner city trips is harder on oil than fifteen thousand motorway kilometres. The service interval is twelve months or the distance figure — whichever arrives first.
Batteries and short trips
Repeated short trips drain the battery without a run long enough to recharge it. Battery failure in a low-kilometre inner city car is normal, not a defect.
European and EV welcome
A lot of what comes to us from the inner city is European, and a fair share of newer cars are hybrid or fully electric. We work on all of it.
Car park damage handled directly
Kerbed rims, scraped bumper corners, column rash down a rear quarter — panel work and mechanical work from the same building.

Common questions
FAQ — New Farm
Is New Farm too far for a service?
For an oil change on its own, quite possibly. For insurance work, a car needing both panel and mechanical repair, or a Saturday booking, people make the trip regularly and think it is worth it.
How do I get there from New Farm?
Across the river and south onto Ipswich Road, then a short way off it into Moorooka. On-site parking when you arrive.
My car only does about 5,000km a year. Is a yearly service overkill?
No. Short-trip city driving is the hardest use an engine gets, and oil degrades whether the car moves or not. If anything, a low-kilometre inner city car benefits more from a proper annual service than a highway car does.
Can you fix kerbed wheels and scraped bumpers?
Yes. Panel and paint work happen here, so cosmetic repairs can be done at the same visit as a service rather than as a separate trip somewhere else.
Do you service European cars?
Yes, with the correct manufacturer-approved oil grades. Also diesel, 4WD, fleet, commercial, hybrid and electric vehicles.
Will servicing here affect my new car warranty?
No. Book a logbook service, we follow the manufacturer's schedule and stamp the book.
Do you run a mobile mechanic to New Farm?
Our mobile service covers many Brisbane areas. Call us on 0402 723 464 to check current coverage for your suburb.
What if I can only come on a Saturday?
We are open 8am to 3pm on Saturdays, and there is an after-hours key drop for everything else.
What does it cost and how do I pay?
Oil and filter from $149, full service from $330, anything further quoted before we start. All major cards and cash.
