Car Servicing and Repairs in Taringa
Taringa sits on Moggill Road and the stop-start run into the city is what the brakes spend most of their life doing. We are at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka — Moggill Road east, then the Ipswich Road corridor. Closer workshops exist and we will say so if what you need does not justify the trip. When it does: brakes, suspension, full servicing and smash repair from one address. Full service from $330.
Moggill Road and what it does to a car
Dense traffic wears brakes
faster than distance suggests.
A car that sits in Moggill Road traffic every morning does an enormous number of brake applications for the kilometres covered. Front pads wear from stops, not from distance, so a low-odometer Taringa car can have brakes in worse shape than a high-kilometre car that does mostly motorway driving.
The written report after every service lists pad thickness in millimetres so the next replacement is planned, not a surprise.
Suspension thumping
Speed humps and suburban roads load shock absorbers in a way motorway driving does not. The wear is gradual and easy to adapt to — until you drive a car with new shocks and realise how bad yours had got.
Written report you can use
Not a tick list. Actual numbers — pad depth, oil colour, battery voltage under load — so the next service visit is planned rather than reactive.
We are honest about closer options
If what you need is a quick tyre plug or a globe replacement, say so on the phone and we will tell you to use someone local. We would rather earn the visit when it makes sense.
Panel and mechanical together
A car needing brake work and a smash repair is one booking here, not two workshops and two weeks.

Common questions
FAQ — Taringa
Taringa has closer workshops. Is the drive to Moorooka worth it?
For a small job, probably not, and we will say that on the phone. For anything that spans mechanical and panel work, or when you want a written condition report, or when Saturday is the only day that works, people from Taringa make the trip regularly.
What route do I take from Taringa?
Moggill Road east toward the city, then follow the Ipswich Road corridor south into Moorooka. We are at 2 Baldock St with on-site parking.
My suspension thumps over speed humps. What causes that?
Usually worn shock absorbers or strut mounts. Shock absorbers do not fail suddenly — they gradually lose their damping ability and you adapt to the feeling without noticing how bad it has got. A hoist inspection shows the play.
Moggill Road stop-start traffic — what wears first?
Front brakes. Dense stop-start traffic does more brake work per kilometre than motorway driving. We measure pads at every service and write down the number.
Do you come out to Taringa?
Our mobile service covers many Brisbane areas. Call us on 0402 723 464 to check current coverage for your suburb.
Can you show me the worn parts?
Yes. Ask when you book and we keep them aside rather than binning them.
Do you work on European cars?
Yes, along with diesel, 4WD, fleet, commercial, hybrid and electric vehicles.
How much is a service?
From $330 for a full service, from $149 for oil and filter. Any extras are quoted before we start.
Is Saturday available?
