Car Servicing and Repairs in Woolloongabba
Ipswich Road links Woolloongabba to our workshop at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka — one road and very little thinking. Mechanical work and smash repair happen in the same building, covering servicing, brakes, batteries, safety certificates, insurance repairs and panel work without sending you to a second business. An oil and filter change starts at $149 and a full service starts at $330.
Inner suburb kilometres are harder than they look
Stop-start kilometres
wear more than they show.
Woolloongabba is close enough to the city that plenty of cars here cover very little distance while doing a lot of work. Twenty minutes of crawling between lights adds almost nothing to the odometer and a fair amount of heat and wear to everything else.
The service interval still runs on the calendar. A car that does 6,000km a year still needs servicing at the twelve month mark. Short-trip driving is about the harshest thing you can do to engine oil, because the engine rarely gets hot enough for long enough to drive off the moisture and fuel that work their way into the sump.
Brakes wear by use, not distance
Stop-start traffic means the pads are applied constantly at low speed. We regularly see inner south cars with modest kilometres on the clock and front pads close to finished.
Batteries that never get a full charge
A drive of a few minutes starts the engine, runs the lights and the air conditioning, then shuts down before the alternator has put back what the starter took out. A battery test takes minutes.
Car park and street damage
Woolloongabba has a lot of on-street parking and tight car park ramps. Scraped bumper corners, kerbed wheels, folded mirror housings and reversing knocks are the common ones we see.
Coming down from the Gabba end
Almost everyone from Woolloongabba picks us up on Ipswich Road heading south, runs through Annerley and turns off at Baldock Street. Parking is on site.

Common questions
FAQ — Woolloongabba
How do I get to you from Woolloongabba?
Ipswich Road south, through Annerley, then off into Baldock Street at Moorooka. Our address is 2 Baldock St, Moorooka QLD 4105, and there is parking on site.
My car only does short trips around the Gabba. Does it still need a yearly service?
Yes, and arguably more than a car doing highway kilometres. Oil ages with time and heat, and short runs never let the engine get properly warm.
Why are my brake pads worn out when the car has low kilometres?
Because pads respond to how often you stop, not how far you drive. Inner suburb traffic applies the brakes hundreds of times on a trip that barely moves the odometer.
Can you repair damage that happened in a unit car park?
Yes. Low-speed bumper, guard and mirror damage is a large share of the smash repair work we do for inner south customers. Send photos or bring it in and we will quote it.
Do you deal with my insurer directly?
Yes. We work with all major Australian insurers and handle the assessment and the paperwork so you are not chasing it yourself.
Do you work on European cars?
Yes, along with diesel, 4WD, fleet, commercial, hybrid and electric vehicles. Six technicians and the diagnostic gear to match.
What does a service cost?
Oil and filter change from $149, full service from $330. What sits above that depends on the car and what the inspection turns up, and you get the number before we start.
Can I drop the car off outside your hours?
Yes. There is an after-hours key drop, so you can leave the car the night before and we will call you once we have looked at it.
Do you issue safety certificates?
Yes, on site, and we can usually repair a fail without you booking a second workshop.
