Car Servicing and Repairs in Greenslopes

Greenslopes cars reach us by cutting across Cornwall Street and dropping down towards Moorooka, which makes 2 Baldock St a workshop you can use on a normal weekday rather than a trip you have to plan around. We service and repair every make and model, and we do accident and panel work in the same building. A full service starts at $330 and an oil and filter change starts at $149.

Hills and traffic lights together

Low kilometres
does not mean low wear.

Greenslopes sits on rising ground between Stones Corner and Holland Park, and that combination of gradient and constant traffic lights is unusually hard on a few specific parts of a car. Greenslopes is close in, so a lot of cars here cover small annual distances. That does not slow the service clock down.

Engine oil degrades with heat, moisture and time no matter how far the car has travelled, and short trips are the worst kind of use because the engine never reaches operating temperature for long.

Brakes on a gradient

Going down a hill in traffic means riding the brakes rather than using them once. Pads and rotors get hot, stay hot and wear faster. We give you the actual measurement in millimetres, not "they are fine".

Clutches and hill starts

Manual cars around here do hill starts constantly. A clutch that bites high, smells hot or slips when you accelerate in a high gear is telling you something.

Cooling in the heat

Sitting still on a gradient with the air conditioning running is the worst case for a cooling system. Any weakness shows up on a hot February afternoon rather than in July.

Panel work and older streets

Narrow streets, on-street parking and driveways at awkward angles produce a particular kind of damage. Scuffed bumpers, kerbed alloys, dented rear quarters. All handled in the same building.

Common questions

FAQ — Greenslopes

How far is your workshop from Greenslopes?

Close. Cut across on Cornwall Street and drop down into Moorooka. We are at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka QLD 4105.

Do you cover Stones Corner, Ekibin and Wellers Hill as well?

Yes. Those are all part of the same run in to us, along with Tarragindi, Holland Park and Mount Thompson.

Why do brakes wear faster around Greenslopes?

Gradient plus traffic. Descending in stop-start conditions keeps the pads working continuously, which produces heat and wear that flat driving does not.

My clutch is starting to slip on hills. Is it worth repairing?

Usually, yes. Bring it in and we will confirm whether it is the clutch itself, the hydraulics or something in the linkage before quoting, because those are very different jobs.

Will servicing here void my new car warranty?

No. Australian law lets any qualified workshop carry out logbook servicing without affecting a manufacturer warranty, as long as the correct schedule and parts are used. We stamp the book.

How much is a service?

From $330 for a full service and from $149 for oil and filter only. Anything beyond that is quoted before we start and nothing gets done without your approval.

Can you work on hybrids and EVs?

Yes. We service hybrids and electric vehicles alongside petrol, diesel, 4WD, fleet and commercial vehicles.

Do you do safety certificates?

Yes, at the workshop, and we can repair a fail on the spot.
