Car Servicing and Repairs in Morningside

There are workshops closer to Morningside than ours. What sits at 2 Baldock St, Moorooka is a mechanical workshop and a smash repair shop in the same building, with starting prices published before you book and Saturday trading until 3pm. Morningside drivers who make the run across generally do it because they want both halves of that from one business. Full service from $330. Old Cleveland Road west brings you to us.

Two kinds of driving, one car

Tight suburb streets, then
the Gateway at speed.

Morningside cars tend to live a split life. Half the week is tight older streets with narrow frontages and constant low-speed manoeuvring. The other half is a proper run on the Gateway Motorway. Those two patterns wear a car in opposite directions.

The suburban half is hard on clutches, steering components and anything to do with parking. The motorway half is hard on tyres, cooling systems and belts. We check both.

One reason people drive past closer workshops

A car gets rear-ended and the panel shop rings to say the suspension needs checking — and they don't do that. Here the mechanical side and the panel side are six people in one building. The car gets sorted once.

Published starting prices

Oil and filter from $149. Full service from $330. Most workshops will not put a figure anywhere before you have committed the car. If you are weighing up a longer drive, knowing the starting price is part of the maths.

Gateway tyre wear

Sustained motorway speed exposes alignment problems that short suburban trips hide. A wheel slightly out can eat one shoulder of a tyre in months at motorway distances.

Saturday trading

We are open Saturday until 3pm. A longer run is easier to justify on a morning when you were not going to be at work anyway.

Common questions

FAQ — Morningside

Morningside has closer mechanics. Why come to Moorooka?

Because the mechanical side and the smash repair side are the same business at the same address, because the starting prices are published, and because we are open Saturdays. If none of that matters for the job you need done, a closer workshop is a perfectly sensible choice.

How do I get to you from Morningside?

Old Cleveland Road in from the Morningside side, then across toward Ipswich Road and into Moorooka. On-site parking at Baldock Street.

My car does a lot of Gateway running. What should I watch?

Tyres and cooling. Sustained speed finds uneven tyre wear far faster than suburban driving does, and a temperature gauge that creeps up in heavy motorway traffic is worth acting on before it becomes a head gasket.

Can you do the mechanical repairs after an accident as well as the panel work?

Yes. Panel, paint and the mechanical repairs underneath happen in one building, so nothing gets bounced between two businesses.

Do you work with my insurer?

We work with all major Australian insurers. In most cases you are entitled to choose your own repairer rather than accept the one your insurer suggests.

Do you service European and diesel cars?

Yes, along with 4WD, fleet, commercial, hybrid and electric vehicles. All makes and models.

Do you come out to Morningside?

Our mobile service covers many Brisbane areas. Call us on 0402 723 464 to check current coverage for your suburb.

How long will a service take?

A few hours for most cars. Tell us when you book if you need it back the same day and we will schedule it that way.

What does it cost?

Oil and filter from $149. Full service from $330. Anything the inspection turns up is quoted before we touch it.
