My gearbox is slipping. How much will it cost?
We would need to inspect it first. Slipping can be a simple fluid service, a worn clutch pack, a solenoid, or a fundamental mechanical problem. The cost difference between those is very large, and quoting without looking is guessing.
How often should I change my transmission fluid?
For automatics, most manufacturers say 40,000–60,000km, though many put "lifetime fill" on vehicles that clearly benefit from a service. Manual gearboxes and transfer cases are often overlooked — we check them as part of a full service.
My clutch feels different than it used to. Is it worn out?
Not necessarily just yet. A clutch that engages higher than usual, or one where the biting point has moved to the very top of the pedal travel, is getting close. Catching it before it slips under load is much cheaper than a full replacement after it has started burning.
Should I get the transmission looked at before I buy a car?
